Mission: Titanium: Quest in the 'Silver Bullet'

Shoulder Replacement surgery...how fun. I was sitting in the tub before leaving my Sierra residence for Southern California and thought - what if I were to blog this whole dang experience?

Why?, who travels in an Airstream ( with a sprained ankle) 540 miles to have a major surgery done to her shoulder. I feel happy, scared, excited that I soon will again be able to blow dry my hair, lift a coffee pot, ride a horse, raise my hand if I have a question, pull off my sweatshirt without pain and ski again without a penguin like looking arm! How great will all of that be!!

 Fear....

A titanium shoulder at age 50?  Heck...I ski (teach skiing), mountain bike, kayak, sail across oceans, build and remodel homes - I can do this. I have to be able to use is limp shoulder joint again. The decision has been made. surgery...under the knife, pain, recovering, rehab, months more of immobility...for a new take on life and living it Yeah! OK...I'm ready!

Fear be gone.

Drive. pack my mo-bile home-- aka 2006 CCD International Airtstream...'silver bullet' and head south....from the Sierra's to San Diego...Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. surgery date: May 1, 2012. out of the tub I go...clean and refreshed with a new attitude about the experience.

Join me on my Shoulder replacement journey!
